A fictional paramilitary organization from the Macross Frontier science fiction anime TV series and its movie adaptations. It also appears in the Macross 30 console video game.
S.M.S. (Strategic Military Services) is a special mercenary company or private army that serves as a civilian military provider or private military contractor for the N.U.N.S. forces.
Its main base of operations is the Macross Quarter space warship in the Macross Frontier fleet.
Some of its tactical units include the Skull Team and the all-Meltrandi Pixie Team. Most of its members are former N.U.N.S. ace pilots and/or experienced Human and Zentradi veterans and soldiers.
In the Macross Frontier TV series this organization was the first to deploy the new VF-25 variable fighter mecha to test them in field conditions before being officially adopted by the N.U.N.S. Other equipment used by this private army are the Queadluun-Rea power armor and the EX-Gear power suit.
