One of the original characters created for Power Rangers, appearing from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers to Power Rangers in Space as an active character. The span of shows where he acted as a significant plot-related character (whether as a mentor per Mighty Morphin Power and Alien Rangers, or not) would result in this part of the Saban Era becoming known as the Zordon Age.

His name would be recycled from a similar sounding name from the Americanized Choudenshi Bioman pilot, which referred to the main antagonist, Doctor Man, as Zadar, with the Mighty Morphin pilot turning it into Zoltar, before finally becoming Zordon (along with the mechas going from Droids to Zords, derived from the word 'sword', per Dino Megazord's sword).
