troll
A race of fearsome creatures from Norse mythology.
Originally more or less the Nordic equivalents of giants, although often smaller in size, endowed with oversized ears and noses, and long bushy tails. Their modern appearance, codified in Tolkien's Legendarium, is that of a bulky humanoid creature equal or larger than an orc with thick grey or brown skin, but with much less intelligence and very poor eyesight.
Not to be confused with the act of trolling.
