In Japan, a collaboration was announced with Umamusume featuring Mayano Top Gun (whose namesake horse was named after the movie, and also whose personality is similar to that of a pilot from the film) as a special advertising pilot, including replacing Cruise's Pete "Maverick" Mitchell in an alternate official Japanese movie poster (Danbooru post #5348482, published on Twitter by both Umamusume and the movie's Japanese Twitter account).
