tnt

トリニトロトルエン TNT

Shorthand for trinitrotoluene, an explosive compound primarily used for military purposes due to its high stability.

Contrary to popular belief, TNT is not a general-purposes explosive that is widely used in the mining industry, due to their relatively low explosive yield and high cost compared to dynamite. The confusion stemmed from various American cartoons that often used the word "TNT" as a catchword for any type of explosives for the sake of simplicity.

For tagging purposes, the tag "TNT" should be used when the explosive material in question is clearly labelled as "TNT" or its alternate names. If not, tag it as dynamite (stick explosive) or another identifiable explosive type.

May be used with boxes of TNT or bundles/single sticks of dynamite labelled as TNT.
