spiral king (elona)

One of many Lovecraft-inspired monsters in Elona, the spiral king is most notable for being one of the most powerful base creature classes in the entire vanilla game. (Elona+ producing far more high-level content and much higher-level enemies.)

They are notable for having not just spectacular stats, but also high-level magic, and the capacity to inflict insanity with a gaze.

Spiral kings are creatures apparently made of twisting masses of tentacles, with or without a mask as a "face", and are often used to make "tentacle" jokes when paired with female characters. Like all pets/allies in Elona, you can actually marry and have children with spiral kings, and spiral kings can also be female. (Not that gender matters for breeding purposes in Elona, anyway...)
