A mecha from the Choujikuu Kidan Southern Cross science fiction anime series from the 80s.

The ATAC-01-SCA "Spartas" is a heavy armored and heavy armed variable geometry multi-role combat mecha used by the ATAC.

It is equipped with a triple barreled ion cannon in its left arm weapon pack, a heavy 150mmm smoothbore cannon/missile launcher in its right arm weapon pack and a beam rifle.

Each Spartas has the ability to transform into 3 modes: Hover tank vehicle ("Sniping Clapper"), GERWALK ("Walking Cannon"), and Robot ("Battle Sniper").

Models differ depending on the rank of the individual and can be upgraded according to their use. The Spartas can also be modified for effective space combat and is capable of anti-aircraft operations.

The Spartas is Jeanne Francaix's mecha of choice.

It was renamed as the VERITECH HOVERTANK (Variable Engineering and Robotics Integration TECHnology HOVERing TANK) in the ROBOTECH adaptation.
