r-type

R-Type (アール・タイプ - Āru Taipu) is a side scrolling shoot-em-up arcade video game produced by Irem in 1987.

The player controls a lone starfighter named the R-9A Arrowhead to defend humanity against a mysterious powerful alien life-form known as the Bydo.

Due to its success several ports and sequels for the game have been produced through the years in many different consoles.
