History

In real life, Nürnberg was the second ship of the Leipzig-class, but had a different profile than Leipzig herself in that she was 1000 tons heavier, 4 meters (14 feet) longer, 0.05 meters (2 inches) wider, had more AA guns equipped, had a different bridge structure, and different seaplane facilities.

She started her service in the Spanish Civil War on neutrality patrols, then later participated in rather uneventful minelaying and escort activities before becoming a training ship for the rest of the war. Post-war, she was handed over to the Soviet Navy as Admiral Makarov where she served until 1960 when she was sold for scrap.
