major (hellsing)

The Major is the supreme commander of the organization known as Millennium, and the main antagonist of the Hellsing series. A former Nazi who served during the Second World War, the Major is characterized by an all-consuming obsession with war in all of its aspects. He does not care for the reasons behind any war, and appears to have no political or ideological leanings, and wishes only to wage war for all eternity.

His real name is never mentioned in the series proper, although a few easter eggs point to his name being Montina Max, the name of a character from Kouta Hirano's previous series Coyote: Hangyaku no Resistance who served as the basis for the Major. A booklet for Hellsing Ultimate V states that his name may or may not be Montina Max.
