Kousoku Denjin Albegas (光速電神アルベガス, Kōsoku Denjin Arubegasu), also known as Lightspeed Electroid Albegas, is a TV anime super robot series that aired from 1983 to 1984 in Japan, Latin America, Spain and Italy.
There were 45 episodes aired at 25 minutes each. Other loosely translated names are Arbegas, Arebegas, Lightspeed ElectroGod Arbegas and Arbegas: El Rayo Custodio (Spanish for "Arbegas: The Custodian Ray").
Nearly became the third show to be encorporated into Voltron, as Voltron II: Defender of the Middle Universe or Gladiator Voltron, but the poor success of the Dairugger XV-based Voltron I: Defender of the Near Universe led to Albegas' inclusion being scrapped and the Hyakujuu-ou GoLion-based Voltron III: Defender of the Far Universe receiving newly-commissioned animation in the form of Voltron: Fleet of Doom.
