Axis Powers Hetalia's representation of the Republic of Korea/South Korea. A cheerful boy that claims he invented everything, much to the other Asian nations' despair.

Also controversial because of his antics that some Korean fans, fearing that their country's character presents negative Korean stereotypes, pressured the animation studio to remove Korea from the series. However, this seemed to have increased rather than decreased his popularity among many overseas fans.

In fanart, he is sometimes seen with North Korea. While not depicted officially, Himaruya gave a character description of North Korea in his blog was said to be the opposite of South Korea. In many cases, the North might be shown an ahoge that was the reverse of the South's.
