katsushika hokusai (1760)
Legendary Japanese ukiyo-e (wooden print) artist. Hokusai's work is considered influential due to the usage of multi-dimensional perspective and vibrant coloring instead of traditional flat layout and coloring of contemporary artists.
His best known works are The Great Wave of Kanagawa and The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife. The latter is considered the very first instance of tentacles pornography.
