harvestmen
Arachnids from the order Opiliones. Also known as harvesters, harvest spiders, or daddy longlegs. They're particularly remembered for their many species that possess very long slender legs. A harvestmen's body appears as a single oval-shape and they have a single pair of eyes. Spiders in comparison have a clear separation of their two body parts and possess 3-4 pairs of eyes. Harvestmen feed on small insects and plant matter, and can consume solid food. This is unlike spiders which can only consume liquid food.
Urban legend has that harvestmen possess extremely deadly poison, but have fangs to short to penetrate human skin. Despite this claim, no known harvestmen species possesses venom and all lack the fangs necessary to inject venom. Instead of fangs they possess tiny little gripper claws, that are too small to penetrate human skin.
