gowry (elden ring)
Gowry is a character in Elden Ring. He is a sage found in a wooden hut guarded by a giant dog in Caelid, just outside Selia, Town of Sorcery He wears a faded red robe with a pointy hood. Goqry offers the Tarnished the secrets of Selia in exchange for them retrieving the Golden Needle, and helping Millicent on her quest. Completing various parts of his quest will allow the player to buy spells and incantations from him, in additional to other rewards.
The human form Gowry takes is an illusion. He's is actually a Kindred of Rot, or some entity that possess one. Killing him will reveal his true form, but he respawns and states his true self is elsewhere.
