epiphany (holiday)
Epiphany, also known as Theophany in Eastern Christian traditions, is a Christian feast day traditionally held on January 6th. It is sometimes called Three King's Day and in some traditions celebrated as Little Christmas.
In Western Christianity, the feast commemorates primarily the visit of the Magi (aka The Three Wise Men or Three Kings) to the baby Jesus. In Eastern Christianity the feast commemorates the baptism of Jesus in the Jordan River.
In some countries it is celebrated on the Sunday after January 1st. In Eastern Churches that still follow the Julian calendar, they observe the feast on January 19th on the Gregorian calendar.
