The beginning of the Dragon Ball multimedia series, starting in 1984 and lasting until Late 1988, after which the Saiyan Saga began, corresponding with the beginning of Dragon Ball Z in all forms but the original manga. Three non-canon movies were also released during this era, and another later during the GT era.
