dark elf
An Elf sub-type who are said to be troublesome to others or affiliate themselves with evil and/or dark sides. In some works, they are treated as a separate but related species of elves and are not necessarily evil.
Dark elf appearances vary from depiction to depiction. Many, such as those inspired by Dungeons & Dragons tend to have colored skin in various tones of blue, grey, or purple. Others like the Dark Eldar from Warhammer 40k tend to have extremely pale or white skin. Typical dark elves in many Japanese copyrights instead just have dark skin.
This tag can also be applied for elves from copyrights where they have none of the above yet it is their title as a character.
