Iaigiri (Japanese, meaning Iai Cut), Cut (English)
A move in Pokémon media. Cut can be used in battle to inflict damage. The Japanese name refers to iaido, a martial art.
In the Generations 1–6 of the games, Cut is an HM (hidden machine) move which can be used to cut down small trees that block the player's passage. It is often required to complete these games (except in Hoenn-based games); it can also be used to access optional areas.
