The elder of the Kong Family, introduced in Donkey Kong Country. A grouchy, bitter old ape who constantly breaks the fourth wall to chastise Donkey Kong and reminisce about the good old days before the "newfangled graphics".

While usually officially affirmed to being Donkey Kong's grandfather, some official sources claim he is the father instead. He is also the husband of Wrinkly Kong.

He has a very long white beard and wrinkled lips. He usually wears a brown sweater vest, black glasses and typically holds a wooden walking cane.

The Donkey Kong Country manual states that he was the ape that fought Mario and kidnapped Pauline in the original Donkey Kong.
