A character originating from a surreal painting by the artist Ursulav. The painting featured a giant pear with human teeth being photographed by a small squirrel in a meadow landscape.

The picture eventually caught on with Internet users outside of its home DeviantArt due to the sheer absurdity of the concept, and the pear's slackjawed expression caused people to use it as an image macro, which lead to its moniker of the "lolwut pear".
