arashi (kancolle)

嵐 嵐(艦隊これくしょん) 嵐(艦これ)

Kantai Collection's personification of the Japanese destroyer Arashi. Character design by Konishi, voiced by Kayano Ai.

She has medium-length messy red hair with an ahoge, yellow eyes, and small breasts. Her default outfit is the Konishi-designed Kagerou-class standard uniform: a white dress shirt with a black vest, and a red neckerchief. She also wears a black pleated skirt, white gloves, black thighhighs, and loafers.

Her rigging consists of her bridge on a backpack rig with a 12.7 cm twin mount on the right side and 61 cm quad torpedo tubes on the left, an additional 12.7 cm twin mount as a handgun, a depth charge rack on her left leg thigh strap, and a searchlight plus 25 mm anti-aircraft gun mounts on her belt.

The historical IJN Arashi bears the dubious distinction of contributing to the crushing Japanese defeat at the Battle of Midway by inadvertently leading American planes to the Japanese fleet. She was sunk in a night action in August 1943.
