alstroemeria (flower)

アルストロメリア ユリズイセン 百合水仙

Alstroemeria, also known as Peruvian lily or lily of the Incas, is a genus of ornamental flowering plants in the Alstroemeriaceae family, native to South America.

Alstroemeria flowers are visually similar to lilies, but have striking differences. They have six petals, three outer petals and three inner petals, two of which point upward; there are also six curved stamens. The inner petals are narrower and almost always spotted or streaked; in some species, only the two upward-pointing petals are spotted or streaked. Alstroemeria flowers come in a wide variety of colors, including red, orange, yellow, shades of green, purple, pink, and white.

Despite the common name Lily of the Incas and some visual similarity, they are not true lilies and should not be tagged as such.
