Tamamo-no-Mae (玉藻前, 玉藻の前, also 玉藻御前) is a legendary figure in Japanese folklore. Stories depict her as a nine-tailed kitsune who acts as a courtesan or concubine to rulers, eventually leading to their downfall. It is also believed her spirit was embedded in the sesshouseki.
