An American-Canadian military science fiction television show running from 1997-2007, based on the 1994 film Stargate.
The show is based around the titular Stargate, ancient alien devices located throughout the galaxy that can open up wormholes allowing travel from one to another. The show follows the adventures of SG-1, the main team of a secret military organization tasked with exploring new worlds and battling interstellar threats.
The series has inspired two spinoff series and several movies.
