A puzzle-adventure series exclusively released on Nintendo DS and 3DS. The series revolves around an Archeologist named Hershel Layton, a gentleman and lover of all things puzzle. The games are designed by Level-5 and feature brain-teaser puzzles that range from simplistic to downright maddening.
There are presently six games released so far. The first three games are referred to as "episodes" 4, 5, and 6, while the fourth through sixth games are part of a prequel trilogy. Starting with the seventh, the series moves forward in time.
