This game was translated but unreleased in North America for some time, leaving a prototype. On June 20, 2003, this game was re-released in Japan for the Game Boy Advance along with MOTHER 2 in a 2-in-1 game, MOTHER 1+2. On June 14, 2015, the translated version was released internationally under the title EarthBound Beginnings.
