The overarching Megami Tensei franchise of Japanese RPGs primarily developed and published by Atlus. The franchise consists of a series of Mainline games and numerous spin-off games and series. The first games are based on the novel series Digital Devil Story.

Most games in the franchise, including some spinoff games/series, are standalone stories with recurring themes of philosophy, religion, occultism, and science fiction. The ability to recruit and use demons in combat is common in multiple series and games.
