May, known as Haruka in Japan, is the female player character in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.

May is a cheerful girl and the daughter of Professor Birch from the Hoenn region. She's great at taking care of others and loves cute Pokémon and conducting fieldwork (official bio).

In her ORAS outfit, she has grey eyes and medium-length brown hair. She wears an orange hairband, a sleeveless shirt, a bracelet, bike shorts under white shorts, yellow shoes, and a green belt bag.

Her Pokémon Adventures counterpart is Sapphire who has fangs, sharp fingernails and sports on occasion a leaf bikini and grass skirt, but mostly during fieldwork.
