A fictional female character from MACROSS.
Hayase Misa is one of the main characters from the Choujikuu Yousai Macross TV series from 1982. She also appears in the Macross: Do You Remember Love? movie and in archival footage and flashbacks in the Macross Flashback 2012 OVA.
Misa is a Japanese member of the U.N. Spacy and the chief tactical officer at the bridge of the SDF-1 MACROSS variable spacecraft.
She's a young Asian woman with long brown hair. Misa is a strong-willed, determined and down-to-earth type of person, completely immersed in doing her military duty. She created the Daedalus Attack. Misa is also Claudia LaSalle's best friend.
In real life during 1983 the character of Hayase Misa won the first Animage Grand Prix Award ever for "Best Female Character" in Japanese anime.
In the Robotech western adaptation her name was changed to Lisa Hayes and her ethnicity to American.
