A traditional Mexican multi-day holiday occurring on November 1 and 2, though other days, such as October 31 or November 6, may be included depending on the locality, focuses on the gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey. Based on the ancient Aztec festival dedicated to the goddess Mictecacihuatl.
