    茶釜

A chagama is a metal pot or kettle used in the Japanese tea ceremony to heat the water for the tea. It is a cast iron pot with a lid and a lug on each side for the handles to be attached. They may be depicted with a portable brazier called a furo, which features an opening at the top for the chagama to be set in above the flames and would feature an opening on the side to monitor the flame as well as provide air.

The chagama does not feature a spout and instead a ladle is used to draw water from it.
