Also known as Toffee apple, in Commonwealth English.
A whole apple covered in a hard sugar candy coating, caramel, or chocolate. Candy apples are a common treat at autumn festivals such as Halloween.
It is easy to mistake a candy apple for a red lollipop due to artists drawing a candy apple spherical. So take notice of the surroundings, flat bottom/top and size of the candy.
